Betty, originally from Alabama, USA, is a long-time resident of Guatemala. She has raised a family of three children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is the author of Kitchen Treasures, a book of family recipes and anecdotes with illustrations by Dick Smith. Cooking and entertaining have played a large role in her life and she continues to enjoy these activities. Her new book, My favorite Menus and Recipes, is a reflection of the time that she has devoted sharing good food with her family and friends.
She has been active in the American Society of Guatemala and for fifteen years she was Executive Producer of the Messiah concert which raised money for educational purposes. She now devotes her times to trying new recipes, making handmade quilts and playing Bridge.
