Siete cuervos & ocho cuentos reúne, como bien lo dice su título, ocho cuentos en los que los niños son protagonistas: niños inteligentes; uno que otro travieso, uno que otro pícaro, uno que otro desobediente; y si hay una característica común a todos es la ingenuidad. Buitrago tiene la virtud de comprender muy bien el mundo de los niños y de hablarles de igual a igual. Los temores, las alegrías, las tremenduras de los niños son bien conocidas por el autor y prueba de esto son sus textos, donde plasma una representación de la infancia muy original y muy cercana a la realidad. Estos cuentos sobre lo cotidiano son muy humorísticos y habrá más de un lector que los termine con una sonrisa. Las ilustraciones de Mayorga, de trazo libre y, por tanto, muy expresivas, nos muestran los distintos escenarios y personajes que conforman ese universo creado por Buitrago. Es un libro absolutamente maravilloso, ojalá lo lean muchos niños.
