Esta adaptación gráfica de la vida de Nietzsche está basada en la biografía
escrita por uno de los principales nietzscheanos contemporáneos,
Michel Onfray. Las ilustraciones de Maximilien Le Roy la acompañan
con gran sintonía para mostrar la evolución de la vida y obra del filósofo
más estremecedor de todos los tiempos. El recuento de Onfray
hilvana los momentos y personas claves en la vida de Nietzsche, armando
con maestría el rompecabezas conformado por su descubrimiento
de Schopenhauer, la relación con Wagner, los desaires de sus
editores, el fallido ménage à trois con Lou Andreas-Salomé y Paul Rée,
y el descenso hacia la locura simbolizado por el conmovedor episodio
con el caballo en Turín. A fin de cuentas, la versión de Michel Onfray de la vida de Nietzsche
es un lúcido homenaje a una de las preguntas esenciales de la obra del
filósofo: «¿Qué dosis de verdad puede soportar el hombre?».
