Un grupo de muchachos se enfrenta a la cacería de iguanas en un barrio de Cartagena de Indias. Edwin, el líder de la pandilla, apedrea, acuchilla y les saca los huevos a las iguanas, dejándolas morir a la intemperie, mientras que Mateo y sus amigos hacen todo lo posible para protegerles la vida. Detrás de la pandilla de Edwin hay una historia de soledad y abandono familiar que sale a relucir en medio de este conflicto que atormenta a los vecinos.
