Their destiny is entangled with that of Gus Dewar, ambitious young aide to U.S. President Woodrow Wilson. Equally involved are two orphaned Russian brothers, Grigori and Lev Peshkov, whose plan to emigrate to America falls foul of war, conscription and revolution.
