Cuando un agrimensor, conocido únicamente como «K.», llega al pueblo en el que lo han contratado, se ve obligado a negociar con una jerarquía de difícil comprensión en la que hay ayudantes y mensajeros, camareras y posaderas, señores y... amantes.
